The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, employee leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Deploy and facilitate company devices (laptops, cell phones, and key fobs) Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Management and updating of employee benefits plans and partner with insurance broker for implementation and annual renewals and enrollment Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Champion and embody the company culture and values, ensuring that company values are highlighted and kept at the forefront as essential part of the culture Create employment brand awareness around company's engagement efforts by applying for local and national award programs Assist in the planning and execution of company events Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, specifically I-9 compliance, administering FMLA, FLSA Wage & Hour Standards, ERISA, Worker's Compensation & ACA reporting.
Experience with a broad range of HR functions, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit Ease in working independently and as an integral member of various teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
Hybrid We offer a hybrid work environment.
Requirements to work in-office is one day a week unless onboarding/offboarding an employee or for company events.
Candidates should live within a commutable distance of our headquarters in Cumming, GA.
Education and Experience 2 to 4 years HR work experience, HR department of 1 experience highly preferred.
SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
