Summary:
Cordano Packaging currently has an opportunity for a full-time Service Technician.
The qualified candidate would be energetic and positive, with passion for automation, and a desire to deliver a high-quality customer service experience and complete tasks to a high standard.
Following a successful 3 month training and probationary period, the qualified candidate will be able to install, start up, and test new packaging systems delivered to customers throughout the US and Canada, as well as provide training in the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
Responsibilities include onsite equipment service, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of existing equipment, as well as providing remote support.
Professionalism will be paramount to building and maintaining customer relationships.
Total annual travel is limited to approximately 50% year as Cordano Packaging places great emphasis on balancing professional and personal life.

Responsibilities:
Assist with onsite new machine installations and upgrades of existing equipment, working from general arrangement drawings and electrical schematics Perform mechanical assembly of equipment, 3 phase electrical power and control voltage connections Perform mechanical modification when necessary Perform equipment software modification when necessary Assist with training customer operation and maintenance personnel Provide first-class on-site support for customers requiring routine service, troubleshooting, or emergency breakdown service and determine the root cause of trouble, for existing equipment Provide first-class live remote technical support telephonically, via video chat, text message, and other methods, for customers needing assistance Provide spare parts assistance and recommendations Compile installation or service reports for company and customer records When not traveling, work from offices based in Cumming, GA with a small team, checking and fulfilling customer needs Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required, with a two-year post high school diploma/certificate in electro-mechanical technology (or similar associate/technical degree) desired General familiarity and understanding of industrial automation encompassing mechanical, pneumatic, and controls systems is required, with proficiency preferred Practical experience or certification with PLC programming and industrial automation is required 3
years experience with industrial maintenance and automation, or installation and start up of automated equipment systems is preferred Required Skills and Abilities:
Work proficiently with little to no supervision, or under the direction of a more experience technician Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical automation control systems Intermediate knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming, working knowledge of Siemens controls a plus Strong mechanical skills and light fabrication required.
(Metal grinding, cutting, drilling, and tapping) Must be able to read mechanical and electrical schematics Excellent customer communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required High degree of diplomacy is required Ability to work in a small team and small office environment Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, etc) Ability to lift up to 50lb Clean background check and drug test Travel up to 50% annually, sometimes weekends, with balance of work at Cumming, GA offices Valid US passport and clean driver's license are required for travel Strong English fluency is required, and Spanish, French, or Italian as additional language a plus Position Notes:
This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek sometimes requires extended days and hours as needed to meet our customers' needs.
Field time average 50% annually.
Weekend work is normal when traveling and possible during holidays for Field Service Technicians but avoided if possible.
Work Environment Notes:
When not in the office, Field Service Technicians work in customer plants.
There is exposure to plant elements such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, product residue or ingredient, and ambient heat, humidity, or cold.
Some plants require background checks and drug screening for entry.
Physical Demands Notes:
Especially when installing or servicing equipment, the employee may be required to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
